UITP MENA Transport Congress & Exhibition 2018 Is a Success

Under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Royal Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai hosted the UITP MENA Transportation Congress & Exhibit 2018 from 23 rd -25 th April 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Center. Over 70 international speakers participated in the occasion, consisting of the famous Canadian thinker, Brent Toderian the opening session keynote speaker.

" This event, the biggest in the public transportation industry, combines industry leaders, policymakers, legislators, programmers, specialists, drivers and manufactures under one roof covering to go over public transport future services," said HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA. Various other prominent speakers included HE Abdullah Belhalf Al Nuami, Minister of Infrastructure Development Abu Dhabi; and HE Rumaih Al Rumaih President, Public Transport Authority, Saudi Arabia.

Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, Member of the Board of Executive Supervisors of RTA, Chairman of the Meeting Supreme Organizing Board, said: "The conferences theme Pioneers for Customer Happiness reflects RTAs endeavours to delight customers from various community segments and Dubai visitors from various countries, and engage them in Dubais activities and events.

" The involvement of world leading professionals in mass transport and framework and the innovative technologies used in operating public transport will improve this experience and contribute to attracting local and worldwide participants. Public transportation systems are important to achieving development and growth," he included.

New campaigns were launched by RTA including the procurement of 316 buses fitted with Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines costing AED465m for the very first time in MENA region, and the launch of the luxury taxi services 'Limousine Bike' and 'covertable Range Rover through the Dubai Taxi Corportation franchise business.

With 'Pioneers for Customer Happiness being the focus, lasting and incorporated mobility is extremely crucial, for this reason speakers concentrated on using electric and electronic vehicles, and the value and plans for biking in cities. They expressed their expectancies for future financial investments in MENA region including bus and train drivers, and various other mass transit business.

The Event coming with MENA Transportation Congress (23-25 April 2018) brought in worldwide participation of public, semi-public and exclusive entities.
Various firms and organisations from the UAE, MENA, Europe, USA, Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, S. Korea, Russia, Netherland and various other innovative countries joined the event with advanced technologies, smart applications, and driverless mobility shells.

Participants included Moscow Transport Company, Russia which manages public transport services consisting of the city, public buses, taxis and other mass transit modes in the Russia funding. Roman Latypor, First Deputy CEO for Strategy and Client Service, Moscow Transportation; and Ganid Butator, First Deputy Head of Transport and Road Framework Division, Moscow Transportation, shared their pleasure for joining this important regional exhibit and set one of the biggest pavilions in the Exhibit.
