Turkish Airlines and Air Algérie Strengthen Strategic Partnership with Expanded Codeshare Agreement

In a move set to enhance connectivity and cooperation between Türkiye and Algeria, Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier of Türkiye, and Air Algérie, the flag carrier of Algeria, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand their long-standing partnership.

The agreement was signed at Air Algérie’s Headquarters in Algiers by Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, and Hamza Benhamouda, CEO of Air Algérie, in the presence of senior executives from both airlines. The MoU outlines a framework for enhanced collaboration and a revised codeshare agreement with a broader operational scope.

Under the new partnership, the two carriers will explore cooperation across multiple sectors, including cargo interline services, aircraft leasing, catering, lounge access, maintenance, and ground handling operations. Additionally, Turkish Airlines and Air Algérie will collaborate on environmental projects, sustainability initiatives, and aviation training programs, reflecting a shared commitment to innovation and responsible growth.

Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, highlighted the strategic significance of the deal, saying:

“Our continuing partnership with Air Algérie reflects our commitment to long-term, sustainable collaboration. This agreement marks an important step in deepening ties between both airlines. As the carrier flying to more countries than any other, Turkish Airlines remains dedicated to expanding cooperation across multiple areas to deliver greater value and options to our passengers. We are confident this partnership will strengthen cultural and economic ties between Türkiye and Algeria while supporting mutual growth.”

Hamza Benhamouda, CEO of Air Algérie, echoed these sentiments, stating:

“We are honored to welcome the Turkish Airlines delegation to our headquarters in Algiers as we continue to reinforce the bond between our airlines and our nations. This comprehensive agreement, covering a wide range of cooperation areas and expertise exchange, represents a new milestone in our strategic partnership. It will bring mutual benefits to both companies and enhanced services to our passengers.”

This expanded partnership aims to boost bilateral tourism, trade, and connectivity while supporting each airline’s broader mission to promote cross-cultural exchange and sustainable aviation practices. By combining resources and expertise, both carriers seek to enhance operational efficiency and deliver an improved travel experience for passengers flying between Africa, Europe, and beyond.
