EHRDC hosts Aviation Talents 33 retreat to advance Emiratisation in aviation

The Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) in Dubai hosted the ‘Aviation Talents 33 – Emiratisation Agenda’ Retreat, reinforcing efforts to increase Emirati participation in key aviation roles and strengthen the sector’s long-term sustainability.

Organised in partnership with leading aviation entities, the retreat aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and the UAE Centennial 2071, both of which aim to build a prosperous, knowledge-based economy driven by future skills. The initiative underscores Dubai’s commitment to developing a future-ready workforce capable of leading one of the emirate’s most strategic economic sectors.

The event brought together representatives from public and private sector organisations to develop a clear executive framework for the Emiratisation agenda under the ‘Aviation Talents 33’ initiative. Discussions focused on identifying critical and high-impact roles within the aviation sector and aligning educational outcomes with evolving industry requirements.

A key theme of the retreat was workforce planning, particularly the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies into aviation operations. Participants examined how AI is reshaping job functions, redefining required competencies, and influencing long-term skills planning. The dialogue emphasised the need for a flexible ecosystem capable of adapting to rapid technological transformation while maintaining global competitiveness.

Abdulaziz Al Falahi, General Supervisor of Recruitment Operations at EHRDC Dubai, described the retreat as a practical step toward translating Emiratisation goals into actionable plans. He noted that investing in national human capital is central to achieving sustainable economic growth and strengthening Dubai’s status as a global aviation hub.

During the sessions, stakeholders explored best practices for aligning education with sector demands through specialised training pathways and deeper collaboration with academic institutions. The aim is to empower Emirati professionals to assume leadership and specialised roles in aviation.

The retreat concluded with the development of a three-year action plan framework, structured around measurable key performance indicators (KPIs). The framework is designed to enhance integration between employment, training, and educational institutions while ensuring consistent monitoring of implementation.

Organisers reaffirmed their commitment to sustained collaboration among partners to activate the recommendations within defined timelines. The initiative supports the UAE’s broader vision of a future-ready economy and reinforces the active participation of Emirati competencies in specialised aviation roles.

The event reflects a proactive, data-driven approach to sector planning, building an integrated ecosystem that connects employment, education, and training under a unified strategy — ultimately strengthening the contribution of national talent to the economic growth of Dubai and the UAE.
