The Ministry of Economy and Tourism has organised the second Zero Bureaucracy Forum in Dubai, bringing together senior government officials and stakeholders to highlight progress in advancing the UAE’s digital services ecosystem and strengthening operational efficiency through advanced technologies and artificial intelligence (AI).
The event saw the participation of H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism; H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; and a wide range of federal and local government representatives. Attendees included H.E. Badreya Al Maidoor, Assistant Undersecretary of Support Services at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism; H.E. Marwan Al Zaabi, Assistant Undersecretary for Regions Sector at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment; and H.E. Advancing the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme
H.E. Bin Touq reaffirmed that the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme embodies the UAE’s comprehensive vision to simplify procedures, enhance service delivery, and support national competitiveness.
“The Ministry of Economy and Tourism has made significant progress in achieving the objectives of this programme, through an integrated framework of digital services, private sector support, and streamlined processes,” he said.
He recalled that the Ministry was one of the first government entities to digitise services during the 2020 pandemic. Today, all Ministry services are available online via its website and smart application, marking a major step in eliminating bureaucratic barriers and facilitating business operations.
Building a digital-first government services ecosystem
The forum also showcased updates on the next phase of the Zero Bureaucracy Programme, focusing on zero digital bureaucracy, greater integration among government entities, and faster information exchange. H.E. Mohamed Bin Taliah noted that the government’s approach continues to prioritise people’s needs, aiming for seamless service delivery and sustainable quality of life.
The event included presentations on upcoming re-engineered services, discussions on best practices, and reviews of the tangible achievements to date.
Key initiatives launched
The Ministry also launched the “Excellence in Leadership” initiative, designed to empower citizens and residents by enhancing productivity, creativity, and access to opportunities. The programme particularly supports SMEs and aligns with the objectives of We the UAE 2031.
Additionally, the forum celebrated the graduation of a new cohort from the Digital Service Design Course, based on the Government Services Development Methodology 2.0. The course equips participants with skills to design innovative, user-friendly services, preparing a new generation of professionals to drive zero-bureaucracy initiatives forward.
By reinforcing collaboration between ministries, federal authorities, and local entities, the Zero Bureaucracy Forum continues to serve as a pivotal platform for shaping the UAE’s future-ready government services model.
