The Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media (ADTCM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Horizon University College to strengthen collaboration in tourism, culture and media, while supporting sustainable development and advancing national talent within the emirate.

The agreement was formalised in Ajman on March 1, 2026, as part of ADTCM’s strategy to build meaningful partnerships across public and private sector institutions.

Strategic Academic and Professional Collaboration

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director-General of ADTCM, and Prof. Mohammad In’airat, President of Horizon University College, in the presence of senior officials from both entities.

The partnership focuses on:

  1. Launching joint academic initiatives

  2. Providing hands-on training opportunities for students

  3. Delivering specialised workshops and professional courses

  4. Enhancing research and technical competencies

  5. Implementing joint tourism, cultural and media projects

Officials said the collaboration will help showcase Ajman’s unique strengths and reinforce its position as a leading destination for education, culture and tourism.

Supporting Workforce Development and Continuous Learning

The agreement also provides mutual benefits and academic services for ADTCM employees and their families, expanding access to professional development opportunities. This aligns with the Department’s commitment to enhancing workforce capabilities and promoting a culture of continuous learning.

The initiative supports the objectives of Ajman Vision 2030, which aims to build a sustainable, knowledge-driven society and enhance the emirate’s global competitiveness.

Leadership Statements

H.E. Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi said the partnership reflects ADTCM’s dedication to empowering national talent and driving growth across the tourism, culture and media sectors.

“Through this strategic collaboration with Horizon University College, we aim to promote academic excellence and professional development, while contributing to the advancement of Ajman’s educational and cultural landscape,” he said.

Prof. Mohammad In’airat described the agreement as a milestone in strengthening academic and professional cooperation between government and higher education institutions in Ajman.

“Through this partnership, we seek to deliver education and training programmes that meet labour market needs while supporting tourism and cultural initiatives that contribute to community development,” he added.

Strengthening Ajman’s Knowledge Ecosystem

The MoU forms part of a broader series of strategic partnerships ADTCM continues to develop with academic institutions across the UAE. Through these collaborations, the Department aims to boost the capabilities of the tourism workforce, equip professionals with essential skills and strengthen expertise in culture and heritage.

Officials noted that such initiatives further position Ajman as a hub for knowledge, creativity and sustainable growth.
