The Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Emirates Scholar Research Center to strengthen academic, research, and scientific collaboration in support of the UAE’s vision for a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation and development.
The agreement was formalized at ADTCM’s headquarters in the presence of H.E. Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi and Dr. Fawaz Nadeem Habbal, alongside officials from both institutions.
Under the MoU, both entities will collaborate to enhance the UAE’s global competitiveness in scientific research by improving the quality of knowledge outputs, implementing joint projects that support decision-making, and producing research aligned with Ajman’s strategic priorities in tourism, culture, and media.
The agreement also aims to foster the development of specialized studies and research papers, promote the exchange of expertise and methodologies, and equip Emirati talents with advanced research and innovation skills. Furthermore, both organizations will organize training programs and workshops for researchers, students, and professionals from both the public and private sectors, helping them harness modern research technologies and techniques.
Commenting on the signing, H.E. Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi stated:
“This collaboration reflects ADTCM’s commitment to advancing the role of knowledge in developing Ajman’s vital sectors — particularly tourism, culture, and media. We believe that our partnership with the Emirates Scholar Research Center will accelerate our efforts to cultivate national talent capable of achieving the emirate’s aspirations and exploring new avenues in research and innovation, in line with Ajman Vision 2030.”
Dr. Fawaz Nadeem Habbal described the partnership as a major milestone in expanding scientific cooperation and promoting innovation-driven progress. He emphasized that the Center will work closely with ADTCM to develop joint research initiatives, strengthen researchers’ participation in international scientific platforms, and encourage the growth of an innovation-led ecosystem in Ajman.
As part of the agreement, both organizations will collaborate to host conferences, seminars, and scientific events on topics of mutual interest, contributing to a thriving knowledge community within the emirate. This initiative supports the broader national agenda of increasing scientific productivity, technological advancement, and knowledge sharing.
The partnership also aligns with ADTCM’s ongoing efforts to establish strategic collaborations with both public and private entities, aimed at driving Ajman’s economic, social, and cultural progress. Ultimately, the MoU reinforces the emirate’s position as a regional hub for knowledge, research, and innovation.
