Artificial intelligence (AI) has grown into a powerful tool which has transformed the way we live and interact with the world. The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), the worlds first graduate-level, research-based artificial intelligence (AI) university, invites segments of the public to learn about the second and the prospect of AI in its upcoming MBZUAI Talks webinar, Development of Artificial Intelligence: Past, Contemporary and Future on 6 October from 6 pm 7:15 pm UAE time.

The session will be hosted by Dr Munawar Hayat, an Assistant Professor in the Computer Vision Department at MBZUAI. During the webinar, Dr Hayat will address the major improvements and discoveries in AI over the past decade and offer perspicacity into its possible future impact.

As we move into the history of AI developments, we will look at the initiation of AI as a field, its traditional perspective in the setting of other scientific disciplines, findings and important events, said Dr Hayat. In this talk, I will present different topics in detail from the original discoveries in deep learning, state-of-the-art deep learning-based methods in computer vision, image recognition, natural language processing, independent driving, gameplay and support learning.

The session will also highlight the boundaries of AI, possible future research directions and specific challenges associated with AI research.
