Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation participates in Doha forum on educational innovation
The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has participated in the Forum on Educational Innovation and Knowledge-to-Practice Transformation, organized by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States in collaboration with Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The event took place in Doha from September 15–16, 2025, alongside the ceremony honoring the winners of the second edition of the Gulf Educational Datathon.
Representing the Foundation, Dr. Mariam Al Ghawi, Director of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Centre for Giftedness and Innovation, joined the sixth session titled “Institutional Partnerships in Supporting Educational Innovation.” In her remarks, Dr. Al Ghawi stressed the need to move educational projects beyond theoretical concepts toward practical, implementable initiatives.
She emphasized that institutional partnerships are key drivers of this transformation, highlighting Gulf examples of collaboration between education, the private sector, and incubators—such as specialized educational incubators like FABLAB.
“Educational innovation is not a passing slogan but an institutional practice grounded in scientific research and practical application,” Dr. Al Ghawi stated.
She added that Gulf experiences show how partnerships with the private sector and incubators strengthen educational identity, empower systems to adapt to global changes, and preserve cultural authenticity. Dr. Al Ghawi also underlined the leading role of the Hamdan bin Rashid Foundation in fostering educational innovation through cultivating creativity, offering international awards as platforms of excellence, and investing in human capital via advanced training and capacity-building programs for teachers and education leaders.
The forum concluded by reaffirming the importance of strengthening strategic partnerships and embracing innovative, applicable projects. These initiatives, organizers noted, contribute to the advancement of Gulf education, safeguard cultural authenticity, and align with the imperatives of modernization and global competitiveness.
