Federal Youth Authority and Fatima Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative Signs a MoU to Upskill UAE Youth

The Federal Youth Authority (FYA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fatima Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative to set up frameworks for collaboration and work with young innovators on new breakthroughs and products.

Both these entities will work closer together to empower youth participating in the Fatima Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative, and provide dedicated creative spaces for them at Creative Centres and within the FYAs Youth Launchpad initiative.

According to the MoU, the Federal Youth Authority will offer opportunities for young entrepreneurs to invest their energy and creativity in the Fatima Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative. The Authority will offer free spaces equipped with everything they need to launch their innovative projects and play their part in the UAEs sustainable development.

FYA Director General His Excellency Saeed Al Nazari said This MoU with the Fatima Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative marks a significant new addition to the Federal Youth Authoritys efforts to empower young innovators. The agreement supports our model, which focuses on promoting lifelong learning among the youth to ensure their skills are constantly updated. It also encourages them to embrace entrepreneurship as a means to effectively contribute to building the knowledge- and innovation-based economy of the future, in line with our wise leaderships aspirations and the UAE Governments efforts to create a better future.

Al Nazari said We are committed to building long-term strategic partnerships with entities all around the UAE to collaborate on enriching the youths knowledge and expertise, developing their skills, refining their creative abilities, and channelling their innovation to engage them to engage them in the UAEs efforts towards progress and prosperity,.

H.E. continued This agreement is in line with our efforts to create a supportive environment to empower young innovators, promote a culture of entrepreneurship among them, and support them as they work to turn their ideas and innovations into concrete projects that serve the community and drive the UAEs nationwide development,.

For his part, Farshied Jabarkhyl, Director of the Fatima Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative, said: We are committed to developing our partnerships with likeminded entities that support entrepreneurship. We are happy to be cooperating with the Federal Youth Authority on developing initiatives that seek to enrich the youths knowledge and refine their professional skills, in addition to enabling entrepreneurs to provide added value and play a bigger role in sustainable development efforts.

The MoU includes various areas where the two entities pledge to collaborate, first of which is nurturing young peoples character through lifelong learning and specialisation mindsets. This includes but is not limited to: offering upskilling programmes through the Emirates Youth Professional School, organising industry-specific workshops for the Creative Centres; and hosting industry-themed visits.

Moreover, the agreement includes providing hands-on training, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for youth aged 15 to 35 through various initiatives and programmes, including the Launchpad initiative and the Emirates Youth Professional School, in addition to other programmes that seek to hone young peoples skills and channel them towards projects and activities. The two parties also agreed to collaborate on providing wide opportunities for the youth, as well as to develop new opportunities that can help UAE youth develop and grow by nurturing their character, creating enabling environments for them, and maximising their participation in sustainable development plans.

The Federal Youth Authority was established by Cabinet Decision in 2018 and was then merged with the Ministry of Culture and Youth in 2020. It works to engage young people from various sectors of the community, refine their skills, and unleash their energy and innovation. The Authority oversees various initiatives and programmes dedicated to the youth, as well as efforts to fulfil the objectives of the National Youth Agenda.

Meanwhile, The Fatima Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative, FBMI, was established in 2010 to empower Afghan women and provide additional forums such as education, workshops, social development, medical care, clean water, and various economic reforms. The successful result of the ongoing social programs was accomplished by encouraging capacity building and organization methods involving the local communities in Afghanistan with the production of hand-woven carpets, which has now grown to include fresh and dried fruit, nuts and saffron. Currently the initiative directly employs over 6000 people and benefits over 50,000 Afghans indirectly.
