MoHESR organises workshop to introduce students to future skills
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has organised an interactive workshop as part of its Future Skills series, aimed at preparing university students for evolving labour market requirements and emerging career opportunities.
The workshop brought together 24 students from federal and private universities across the UAE and focused on helping participants better understand future skills demands while linking academic choices to priority sectors within the national economy.
The Future Skills workshop series is designed to enhance students’ readiness for the labour market by raising awareness of rapid changes in job roles and required skillsets. It also aims to empower students to make informed academic and career decisions based on a clearer understanding of current and future economic needs.
The latest session supported students in identifying core skills associated with different academic disciplines and encouraged them to plan their educational and professional pathways accordingly. This approach contributes to stronger alignment between higher education outcomes and labour market expectations.
The initiative forms part of a participatory approach adopted by MoHESR, which emphasises collaboration with students and higher education institutions to build a more integrated and flexible education ecosystem. Through such engagement, the ministry seeks to equip graduates with relevant, future-ready skills and support the UAE’s broader development and workforce transformation goals.
