El Consorci de la Zona Franca, the first consortium established in Spain, recently hosted the Board Satisfying of World FZO in Barcelona Free Area. The conference chaired by H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Chairman of the World FZO, in the presence of Mrs. Blanca Sorigue, Board Member and Director General of SIL Barcelona and various other board members standing for various regions of the world. In this conference, the Board talked about the ongoing growth of the organization, status of numerous solutions, the budget for 2018 and the Annual Conference in 2018.

H.E. Dr. Al Zarooni applauded the ongoing initiatives by the Board members in their ability as leaders to the Free Area industry and their function in the extraordinary success of the World FZO. He said, "We have seen another year of ongoing development for the World FZO, both in membership numbers and better services offered to our community. I would love to give thanks to the Board for their continued assistance and invaluable leadership in positioning the World FZO as the leading organization absolutely free Zone."

H.E. added, "The World FZO will continue to supply a combined platform for reinforcing the function of free areas as key factors to socio-economic development and sustainability and offer innovative ways to progress the level of excellence in this sector.

The Board of Directors examined the record from the Chairman, the CEO and heads of committees. It also went over the 2018 spending plan and the visit of Jose Thomas Contreras, President of the Dominican Association of Free Zones (ADOZONA) to the Board.

The conference concluded up with an arrangement for the following Board meeting to happen throughout the Fourth Annual International Conference and Exhibition and on the side line of the General Assembly conference taking place in Dubai, UAE 30 April - 1 Could 2018.

Following to the meeting, H.E. Dr. Al Zarooni and Jordi Cornet, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Zona Franca Consortium of Barcelona formally authorized the arrangement in between both entities for the Fifth World FZO Yearly International Seminar & Exhibition to be kept in Barcelona, Spain in 2019.

The World FZO also went to the El Consorci facilities with a delegation from the Americas Free Zone Association (AZFA).
