Abu Dhabi Government showcases achievements at 2019 Esri User Conference

In line with global efforts to endorse Abu Dhabi as an international technology and innovation hub, an official delegation comprised of 18 government entities are participating at the 2019 Esri User Conference, which will run until July 12, 2019 in San Diego, California, United States. The delegations presence at the event is intended at increasing the capacity and skills of Abu Dhabi government employees in geographic information systems (GIS), as well as promote the Emirates leading developments and innovation in this field.

Under the theme From data to intelligence, the Abu Dhabi Government is hosting a devoted pavilion showcasing main accomplishments and sharing the knowledge and skills of the newest technologies, standards and innovative global ideas to support the development of GIS solutions. In addition, there will be effective participation in discussion panels intended at promoting the adoption of global best practices for human capacity building, skills development, and reassuring knowledge exchange.

H.E. Dr. Rauda Al Saadi, Director General, ADDA said that the Abu Dhabi Government is observing a robust presence in global events due to its future trends and innovative contributions across all sectors especially in innovative technologies, including GIS. The Esri Conference provides the ideal platform for the sector to share best practices and encourage the use of GIS to develop services and enhance decision-making processes, leading to efficiency and high-quality services based on accurate geospatial data.

Dr. Al Saadi added: The Abu Dhabi Government has established a strong partnership with Esri and it remains to pursue ways to strengthen its relationship with leading GIS organizations and professionals to improve the value of GIS in delivering government services to confirm Abu Dhabi's leadership and excellence in the field of geographic information systems and to strengthen its position as a global business and investment destination and a regional hub for digital transformation.

The important government entities participating at the event include Abu Dhabi Executive Office, Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones (ZonesCorp), Boundary Affairs Council, Department of Economic Development Abu Dhabi (DED), Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA), ADNOC Onshore, Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DPM), Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Al Ain City Municipality, Al Dhafra region Municipality, National Search and Rescue Center (NSRC), Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA), Statistics Center - Abu Dhabi (SCAD), Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), ADNOC Sour Gas.

The Esri User Conference is annually planned by the Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri) with the chief aim of getting together approximately 20,000 participants and GIS experts from 130 countries under one platform to share the latest GIS technologies, discuss corporation chances and initiatives that promote competence in governance.
