Wilo Empowers Future Leaders at 'Young Future Energy Leaders Program' to Advance Sustainability

Wilo Group, a leading manufacturer and digital pioneer in the pumps industry, has actively participated in the Young Future Energy Leaders (YFEL) program during the Sustainability Days Conference 2024. The initiative, aimed at preparing future leaders to tackle global sustainability challenges, is a joint effort by Khalifa University and the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK).

Wilo educated students and youth on smart energy and water management systems through high-profile sessions, underscoring the company's commitment to sustainable solutions. Highlighting its innovative Wilo H2POWERPLANT, Wilo showcased its role as a frontrunner in smart water solutions and sustainability.

The Smart Water Management market in the MENA region is projected to grow at a CAGR of 11% until 2028, driven by water scarcity issues due to climate change, population growth, and socioeconomic development. Wilo's participation in the YFEL program aligns with these regional needs, emphasizing education and sustainable practices.

During the event, Wilo took part in key panel sessions, including ‘Advancing Green Technologies for a Decarbonised Future,’ ‘WILO H2Powerplant - A Smart Solution for the Use of Green Energy,’ and the closing session at Khalifa University. These discussions aimed to educate students on industry advancements and the future of sustainability.

Yasser Nagi, Group Director of Wilo Middle East and North Africa, highlighted Wilo’s revamped sustainability plan, which integrates climate-neutral hydrogen to power on-site electric vehicle fleets, among other initiatives to reduce the company’s carbon footprint. "At Wilo, sustainability and social responsibility are core to our mission. By educating future leaders and embracing advanced technology, we strive to create a sustainable future," Nagi stated.

Fouad Ahmed, Regional Marketing Manager of Wilo, also emphasized Wilo's commitment to eco-friendly practices and social responsibility during the event's concluding session. He discussed Wilo’s vision of delivering innovative solutions that support global sustainability efforts. "Our H2POWERPLANT at Wilopark in Dortmund, Germany, exemplifies the future of green energy, and we aim to replicate this model in the Middle East," Ahmed added.

Rooted in sustainable values, Wilo is dedicated to nurturing a better tomorrow through eco-friendly practices and smart pump solutions. The company remains committed to enhancing the regional landscape with its long-term strategic vision and recognizes the crucial role of future leaders in achieving sustainability goals.
