WaHa Secures $8 Million in Series A-1 Funding to Boost Global Expansion and Water Security Innovation

Water Harvesting Inc. (WaHa), a pioneering developer of atmospheric water generation (AWG) technologies, has announced the successful closing of an $8 million Series A-1 financing round, coupled with a corporate reorganization. The funding round was spearheaded by Chairman Mike Phillips and Board Member Christian Thirion, with strong backing from key investors including Berkeley Catalyst Fund, Anthropocene Institute, Vestafund, and Mitsui Mining & Smelting Co., Ltd.

The Series A-1 financing effectively eliminates WaHa’s debt, simplifies its capital structure, and injects the resources needed to hit critical commercial milestones. The funding will also support WaHa’s global growth strategy, particularly within the UAE and GCC regions, where the company’s breakthrough water harvesting systems have shown exceptional field performance.

WaHa’s flagship WaHa Vaporator® technology—protected by 14 patent families and 18 global patents—has already demonstrated unmatched reliability and efficiency in some of the world’s most extreme climates. Since 2023, its AWG systems have been deployed across diverse and challenging environments, including:

  • West Texas

  • Abu Dhabi

  • Remote UAE desert locations

  • Riyadh

  • Stockholm

The systems have achieved 99.998% mechanical reliability and 98.3% of target water output, setting a new industry benchmark for sustained performance.

“We’ve built a platform capable of transforming access to water across multiple sectors,” said Mike Phillips, Chairman of WaHa. “This raise will enable us to establish solid traction for the WaHa Vaporator® and improve water security in the UAE and broader GCC.”

Commercial Launch and WETEX 2025 Showcase

WaHa is set to officially unveil its first commercially available AWG unit at WETEX 2025 in Dubai, taking place from September 30 to October 2, 2025. The product will be introduced to utilities, developers, and industrial operators seeking sustainable, scalable solutions for off-grid water generation, HVAC integration, and agricultural applications.

“This is a major step toward delivering water where it’s needed most—reliably, efficiently, and sustainably,” said Frank Ramirez, CEO of WaHa. “We’re proud of what our team has achieved and energized for what’s ahead.”

Strategic Growth and Commercial Partnerships

As part of its expansion strategy, WaHa is actively negotiating commercial agreements for manufacturing, distribution, and long-term service and support, aiming to scale production and meet rising demand for sustainable water access technologies.

With a robust pipeline of qualified sales leads across the GCC and a successful pilot program at Khalifa University, WaHa is well-positioned to play a vital role in enhancing water security and climate resilience in arid regions.
