Dubai Culture and Dubai Police Collaborate to Safeguard Heritage Assets

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Police to enhance cooperation in the ‘Heritage Police – Al Asas’ project, aimed at safeguarding heritage assets in historical neighborhoods. This collaboration focuses on ensuring the security of these sites while providing exceptional cultural experiences for visitors through various initiatives and events that highlight Dubai's rich history, promote cultural values, and strengthen national identity.

The MoU reflects the commitment of both Dubai Culture and Dubai Police to uphold Dubai government principles by fostering inter-agency communication, sharing best practices, and supporting the emirate's strategic goals. The agreement includes deploying Al Asas police in significant areas such as Al Shindagha Historical Neighbourhood and Hatta Heritage Village.

His Excellency Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, emphasized the importance of this partnership in fulfilling government directives aimed at achieving strategic objectives. "This MoU aligns with our leadership's vision and government directives, encompassing values, national identity, and cultural heritage. Our collaboration supports Dubai's efforts to launch innovative initiatives and events that introduce the community and visitors to the city's rich cultural heritage," he said.

Muna Faisal Algurg, CEO of the Cultural & Heritage Sector at Dubai Culture, highlighted the Authority’s dedication to working closely with Dubai government entities to manage and promote heritage sites. "Heritage and historical sites are crucial landmarks that underscore our national identity and heritage, reflecting Dubai's growth and development over the decades. Our partnership with Dubai Police enhances the role of the Heritage Police, a tradition dating back over half a century. This collaboration enriches national events hosted by our facilities and assets, offering visitors and tourists a unique cultural experience," she stated.
