Dubai, 11 March 2019: UAE Banks Federation (UBF) kicked-off the first Inter-Bank Football Tournament (IBFT), with 30 teams from 24 participating UBF member banks coming together to compete for charitable causes. The tournament, launched on March 8th, will run throughout the whole March, and the top three winners will receive awards that will be donated to the winners charities of choice.

IBFT will take place every Friday at Dubai Sports City, from 3 pm to 11 pm. The matches are managed by a trained referee who has professional experience in running such tournaments. IBFT is one of many other initiatives UBF plans to engage in this year to promote CSR as well as a healthy and collaborative environment between its member banks, which significantly contribute to the UAE community.

Commenting on the launch of IBFT, H.E. Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Chairman of UAE Banks Federation, said: IBFT is a new initiative that brings our member banks together under one roof, offering employees the opportunity to take part in exciting and worthwhile experiences together. UBF greatly values the importance of communication between banks, and we believe this tournaments informal and friendly nature is a significant stepping-stone towards building meaningful relationships between employees and families.

Families and children of participating players were welcomed on the first day to enjoy fun-filled and engaging activities, along with entertaining exhibitions, vendors, and food kiosks. The First day of the tournament witnessed participation of 330 players in 30 matches played.
