Dubai Chamber of Commerce awards Centena Group ESG label with record environmental score
Centena Group, a leading provider of science, engineering, education, and technology solutions, has been awarded the Dubai Chamber of Commerce ESG Label, achieving a record-high 83 per cent environmental performance score. The recognition highlights the company’s commitment to energy efficiency, resource management, and sustainable business practices.
The comprehensive assessment also measured preparedness and awareness, where Centena scored 71 per cent, underlining its progress and areas for future development.
Key achievements in sustainability
Centena Group has significantly reduced its carbon footprint by implementing energy-efficient technologies, stringent conservation measures, and waste segregation systems for hazardous and electronic waste. The company also set quarterly reduction targets for energy and water usage, reinforcing its accountability in sustainability.
However, the review also identified opportunities for greater impact, including optimising transportation systems to cut emissions, investing in carbon offset projects such as tree planting and renewable energy, and broadening waste reduction strategies to include office and food waste.
Leadership perspective
Sanjay Raghunath, Chairman and Managing Director of Centena Group, said:
“At Centena Group, we believe real success lies in improving and creating a greater positive impact. While we take pride in this achievement, it also reflects our long-term strategy to stringently evaluate ESG readiness across our divisions, identify gaps, and build a targeted growth plan.”
He added that the ESG Label acts as a roadmap for businesses aiming to align with global sustainability standards, enabling Centena to take meaningful actions benefiting stakeholders, communities, and the planet.
