Sri. Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India in the Investors Meeting convened by the Embassy at Mazdar City Abu Dhabi

17th August 2015, Dubai - Today, I had the opportunity to meet Sri. Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India in the Investors Meeting convened by the Embassy at Mazdar City Abu Dhabi

He is on an historic visit to the United Arab of Emirates (UAE) , which is the first such visit in over three decades by the Prime Minister of India. The visit will further strengthen the foundation of the existing strong relationship between India and the UAE.

The PM spoke today about the importance of business development between the two countries. India requires up to 50 million new affordable homes and many other infrastructure like roads, schools, hospitals - all of which are an opportunity for growth and development There are huge opportunities for investment within India, and with the positive majority his government has, they can drive this forward and continue to build their relationship with the UAE.

Healthcare is a top priority for both nations and this sector is an area that can only continue to see increased collaboration between India and the UAE. The UAE has clear targets within their National Agenda to achieve a world-class healthcare system by 2021, serving a healthy nation. For India healthcare is also a priority and it is something we can continue to work together towards achieving - not just through the provision of hospitals and medical centres - but with medical education, training and wider patient services.
