Sharjah World Championship Week Kicks Off with U.I.M. F1H2O World Championship 2016

Sharjah, December 15, 2016 - Sharjah World Championship Week began today (Thursday, December 15, 2016) at Khalid Lagoon with the U.I.M. F1H2O World Championship 2016-- Grand Prix of Sharjah.

The event will certainly see the world's ideal racers go head to avoid the emirate's 16-kilometre Gulf shoreline in their single-seater inshore circuit Formula 1 Powerboats. Inaugurated in 1981, F1 powerboat auto racing includes several groups completing worldwide each season, whereby boats - reaching speeds of approximately 250 kilometres per hr (155 miles per hour) - race along a track of about 350 meters with multiple turns.

The Sharjah World Championship Week 2016 consists of the 17th U.I.M. F1H2O World Championship 2016-- Grand Prix of Sharjah on December 15 and 16, as well as the second UIM-ABP Aquabike Class Pro Circuit World Champion - Grand Prix of Sharjah 2016 on December 19 and 21.
