Pioneering industry leaders were celebrated by the second annual Intersec Awards

The second edition of the Intersec Awards assembled the professionals from the security, safety and fire protection industries at a gala event to celebrate their industry accomplishments.

This celebration took place at Dubai's Habtoor Palace Ballroom, hosted by Messe Frankfurt Middle East, the organizers of Intersec.

130 entrants from nine categories were received from various companies across the globe including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Mozambique, Germany, Canada and Singapore.

" The Intersec Security, Safety & Fire Protection Awards will include the merriment of Innovation, excellence, perseverance, teamwork, and a commitment by the entire commercial safety and fire protection society that continually keeps our communities safe and secure," said Simon Mellor, CEO of Messe Frankfurt Middle East.

Spread across five security and four categories of fire, entries have undergone a strict evaluation process, which has taken place over two days and required shortlisted nominees to submit their projects and products and need to response for the interview in front of an independent panel.

Industrial Pioneers and professionals from various companies like Khalifa University, the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), Dubai Civil Defence and EMAAR were the jury panel members.

EJADAH was the one and only firm which won Security Project of the Year and Innovative Security Product of the Year awards in two categories. The UAE-based supplier of community alternatives for real estate assets was granted an award for its work on upgrading the CCTVs across Jumeirah Beach Residences and their Security Robotic Service, respectively. Our robots are now offering the security industry and our customers the opportunity to buy or rent assets that increase and improve the standard and quality of security services we offered says Zainab Al Rahma, Marketing and Communications Manager for EJADAH

"To use the recent technology, they are an outstanding illustration and can readily be incorporated into all current safety systems. When these goods are incorporated, they will definitely complement any safety plans of our clients on their development.

WSP added Fire Project of the Year award to its two awards received from 2018 for its work on The Wharf in Bluewaters Island.

"It is a transformation from the super and mega-high buildings and has created distinctive aspects for fire safety and life security that must be taken into account. Said Alexander Castellanos, a consultant from WSP.

"The fire strategy used its concept to address safety aspects of a life like the access for fire service, phased evacuation, and discharge as integral part of the design, while maintaining a high degree of safety with a view to achieving a pedestrian experience and its low-level nature."

New categories of awards such as Humanitarian Project Award won by Sicuro Group for their Mozambique Crisis Response & Operation Strategy, it is the addition to the returning award categories.

Another newly introduced award category, the Systems Integrator of the Year was taken by the safety management systems provider Maxxess for its work on Bluewaters Island

"Bluewaters selected the eFusion safety management platform and utilizes multi-functional open-technology software, without the need for complicated or custom implementation," Lee Copland, EMEA, Maxxess Managing Director. "A modular building block strategy which allows for maximum liberty to integrate, customise and adapt safety systems to address both the present and emerging risks has benefited from this project's cost benefits.

The reduced expenses are not only applicable for the current implementation but it can also be utilized for the future adaptations in an easily manner.

When compared to the customized solution the Off-the-shelf, plug-and-play integration is much less expensive, and now eFusion incorporates around 60 pioneering security technologies, with a gradual addition continuously.
Intersec's 22nd edition will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 19 to 21 January 2020 with over 1,300 exhibitors from 59 nations covering the seven main exhibition areas, including Commercial Security, Fire & Rescue, Homeland Security & Policing, physical and perimeter safety, cyber-security, and smart home & building automation.
