Gulf Business Machines strengthens leadership team with two senior appointments

Gulf Business Machines (GBM), an end-to-end digital solutions provider, has announced two senior leadership appointments aimed at reinforcing its executive bench, expanding market presence, and accelerating customer-centric digital transformation across the UAE.

The company confirmed the appointment of Dr. Feras Al Jabi as General Manager of Technology and Bassam Rached as General Manager of GBM Abu Dhabi. The move is part of GBM’s broader leadership strategy to strengthen operational execution, advance technological capabilities, and align more closely with evolving customer and market needs.

Dr. Al Jabi will lead GBM’s technology strategy, overseeing the company’s solutions portfolio and delivery capabilities. His mandate includes expanding cloud, data, artificial intelligence, and automation offerings, deepening partnerships with global technology providers, and aligning innovation roadmaps with regional digital priorities.

He joins GBM from ITQAN, where he spent nearly three decades developing and scaling technology businesses across the UAE and wider GCC. His experience includes leading national and enterprise transformation programmes across government, healthcare, energy, and infrastructure sectors, with a focus on systems integration, multi-cloud environments, and long-term digital strategy.

Commenting on his appointment, Dr. Al Jabi said his priority will be to strengthen GBM’s technology leadership, refine growth strategy, and deliver scalable, customer-focused digital solutions through closer collaboration with partners and clients.

In parallel, Rached will head GBM’s Abu Dhabi operations, overseeing strategic initiatives and daily operations while reinforcing the company’s role as a digital transformation partner across the emirate. His responsibilities include accelerating growth, driving solution innovation, and strengthening strategic partnerships across public and private sector entities.

Rached brings more than 20 years of regional technology industry experience and has held multiple senior roles within GBM, most recently serving as General Manager of Technology. In that role, he helped shape portfolio strategy and led major transformation programmes with key customers.

He said his focus will be on co-creating practical solutions with customers and partners and supporting Abu Dhabi’s digital economy ambitions through AI, cloud, and citizen-centric digital services.

Marwan Faraj Bin Hamoodah, Chairman of GBM, said the appointments support the company’s long-term leadership and innovation agenda, aimed at enhancing operational excellence, deepening customer engagement, and building a more integrated organization aligned with the UAE’s digital economy goals.
