Number of school days in a week reduced to 3.5 for some students in Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 29 January 2019: Good news for students as the Knowledge and Human Development Authoritys (KHDA) Rahhal project announces the reduction of school days to only 3.5 days a week.

Nearly 1,500 Indian students in Dubai can now attend school for only three and a half days a week while they can utilize the remaining time to develop their talents or to catch up on academics. Schools interested to adhere to the new schedule can contact the authorities.

The new schedule will be implemented among the students of grades 11 and 12 in our school, this April, says Indian High School Dubai CEO Dr. Ashok Kumar. In order to achieve the CBSE prescribed target of 30 hours a week, the daily class hours will begin from 7:30 am in the morning and run until 3:30 pm in the evening for the students of these grades.

During the free days, students can find themselves time to spent on internships, attending lessons other than academics, preparing for other competitive exams, or study at home with parents. This will also ease the life of students by providing more time to spend with friends and family.
