Ministry of Culture concludes Winter Programme 2025 themed ‘Language of the Quran and Emirati customs’
The Ministry of Culture has concluded its Winter Programme 2025, held under the theme ‘Language of the Quran and Emirati Customs’, following a series of cultural and educational activities aimed at strengthening national identity and promoting the Arabic language among youth.
Organised in collaboration with Sandooq Al Watan and several cultural and community partners, the programme was hosted at the Ministry’s Cultural Centres in Al Dhafra, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah. The initiative attracted strong participation, welcoming 820 participants aged six and above through 56 events delivered across the three centres.
Designed to balance education with engagement, the Winter Programme offered a wide range of interactive and educational workshops focused on creative skill development, Arabic language learning and Emirati customs. Activities were delivered in an environment that combined learning with entertainment, encouraging active participation and self-expression.
H.E. Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, said the high turnout reflected ongoing efforts to deepen young people’s connection to national heritage and identity, with the support of Sandooq Al Watan and the Ministry’s partners. He noted that the programme provided a rich educational setting that fostered creativity, nurtured talent and opened new opportunities for innovation.
He added that such initiatives support the Ministry’s long-term vision to strengthen the cultural ecosystem by enhancing the role of cultural centres in equipping youth with knowledge, values and creative skills, while promoting sustainable learning practices.
The Winter Programme is one of the Ministry’s key annual initiatives implemented during school holidays to engage children and young people in purposeful activities that support cognitive, artistic and cultural development. It adopts innovative and interactive educational approaches to reinforce national identity and cultural awareness.
This year’s programme included specialised workshops on the Arabic language and the Holy Quran, visual arts, animation, Emirati cuisine, traditional shipbuilding, Emirati customs and short story writing. Participants also took part in educational field visits to museums and heritage sites, offering them direct exposure to the UAE’s cultural legacy.
Through these activities, the programme aimed to enhance creative thinking, teamwork and social responsibility, while nurturing individual talents and encouraging creative self-expression. The Winter Programme forms part of the Ministry’s broader cultural initiatives delivered throughout the year to promote Arabic language, Emirati values and cultural knowledge, contributing to a cohesive society aligned with the UAE’s sustainable development goals.
