Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University Honors Winners of Reading Knights Competition

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) recognized the victors of its Smart Publication Club's latest 'Reading Knights' Competitors for their active function in promoting reading throughout an unique ceremony held at its campus in Dubai Academic City. The competitors was originally launched in honor of the pronouncement of 2016 as the 'Year of Reading' by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

The contest intends to increase understanding on the importance of reading and knowledge enrichment, create the habit of self-learning, enhance analytical and vital thinking, and urge knowledge sharing amongst viewers of different cultural and cognitive histories. Participants are welcomed to submit unbiased Arabic or English evaluations of well-known literary works.

The second round saw strong competition, with 566 prospects aged in between 18 and 65 years from various citizenships vying for the Best Review of Sharjah Air Station: In Between East and West' and 'Sarad El Zat,' two publications composed by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. This year's champ under the 'Arabic' category was Ahmed Mubarak Salem (Bahrain) with 96.4 points, adhered to by Ruqaia Ashkanani (1st jogger up, UAE) with 93.1 and Alia Mutref (Second runner up, UAE) with 89.4. Shabbir Jabir (India) bested the 'English' classification with approximately 62.5 points.

Dr. Mansour Al-Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, recognized the new Reading Knights for their high level of job and stressed the relevance of continually establishing knowledge through self- and range learning, which he described as columns for comprehensive and sustainable growth.

Al-Awar said: "Reading is an effective tool for getting knowledge that causes the advancement of specific capacities. It contributes to the stimulation of intellectual capabilities, the development of cognitive awareness, and the updating of logical skills. We are moving forward with this effort to support nationwide efforts making the UAE a global resources of content, culture and knowledge. We are devoted to highlighting its role as a major contributor to motivating young generations to review and make reading a part of their day-to-day way of living. This will enable them to play famous duties in building a knowledge-based society, following technology and encountering the obstacles of the 21st century."

The upcoming third round of the competitors will accept objective evaluations of guide Reflections on Happiness and Positivity written by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai which can be submitted in Arabic or English.
