The Board of Trustees of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), chaired by His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, held its first meeting for the 2025–2026 academic year to review the University’s recent achievements and discuss future strategic directions.

The meeting, attended by members of the Board of Trustees, focused on the University’s accomplishments from 2023 to 2025, including key academic and administrative developments. The Board also evaluated the progress of implementing the Strategic Plan 2024–2026 and the outcomes of previous resolutions.

During the session, the Board discussed ongoing initiatives aimed at driving educational transformation through artificial intelligence (AI). His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer emphasized that HBMSU continues to build a pioneering model of smart learning, leveraging AI and advanced technologies as catalysts for innovation and creativity in education.

He stated, “Our efforts in the next phase will focus on elevating the University’s performance to align with rapid technological and educational transformations. Strengthening academic and research partnerships regionally and globally remains a key priority to reinforce HBMSU’s position as a leading institution in reshaping the future of higher education.”

Al Tayer also highlighted the University’s role in promoting applied research and scientific innovation, which contribute to practical solutions for developmental challenges across local and regional contexts.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, reaffirmed that developing the smart learning ecosystem through AI is central to the University’s strategic vision. He noted that this approach enhances learners’ professional prospects, improves graduate competitiveness in evolving job markets, and ensures readiness to meet future challenges.

Dr. Al Awar further emphasized the importance of continuously exploring opportunities to advance the educational process through AI-driven innovations, in alignment with global trends and national strategies focused on technology and education.
