HVACR Next Generation Congress 2025 in Riyadh to Unveil Region’s First Desert Certification
Eurovent Middle East, in partnership with the Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA), is set to host the second edition of the Middle East Industry Congress – HVACR Next Generation: Sustainability in Extreme Conditions on October 28, 2025, at the InterContinental Durrat Al Riyadh Resort & Spa.
Supported by major HVACR manufacturers, the congress will gather government officials, industry leaders, and stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) sector across the Gulf region’s demanding climatic environments.
According to Research and Markets, the GCC construction market, valued at SAR 666.76 billion in 2025, is projected to reach SAR 850.96 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) exceeding 5%. This expansion is expected to significantly drive HVACR demand, especially as cooling continues to account for up to 80% of building energy use and more than 50% of national energy consumption in Gulf countries.
Markus Lattner, Managing Director of Eurovent Middle East, said, “With sustainability, energy efficiency, refrigerant transition, and indoor air quality (IAQ) as regional priorities, this congress underscores HVACR’s crucial role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring reliable and affordable cooling and ventilation. As the region faces rising temperatures and extreme conditions, our industry stands at the heart of balancing climate action with economic growth.”
Echoing this sentiment, Hassan Abou Jawhar, Director for Europe and the Middle East at AMCA, emphasized the importance of advancing technical regulations and minimum energy performance standards (MEPS). “Through collaboration between policymakers and industry leaders, this congress will accelerate the adoption of innovative, sustainable solutions and define a more efficient future for cooling and ventilation in the Middle East,” he added.
A key highlight of the event will be the launch of Desert Certification — the first high-ambient performance certification tailored to the Middle East. This initiative ensures HVACR products are tested and validated under real regional climate conditions, setting a new benchmark for product quality and durability.
The congress program will feature keynote presentations from global experts, panel discussions with government and regulatory representatives, and technical sessions showcasing next-generation technologies. Afternoon sessions will spotlight practical sustainability solutions, focusing on the refrigerant transition in high-ambient countries and energy-efficient designs that improve indoor air quality.
