flynas Extends its Global Flight Routes Program with the Announcement of Direct Flights to Cairo

flynas, the leading low-cost carrier with added value (Low Cost Carrier Plus) from Saudi Arabia, announced the further expansion of its strategic Global Flight Routes program with the launch of daily non-stop flights from Jeddah to Cairo starting June 2014.

flynas will now fly to seven destinations in Egypt, with Cairo being added to its existing route network of Alexandria, Assiut, Sohag, Luxor, Sharm El Sheikh and Aswan. With the addition of Cairo, flynas now covers the North, South, East and West of the country, making it one of the biggest regional players servicing Egypt.

flynas also announced today at ATM the signing of a strategic MOU agreement with Egyptian carrier Nesma Airlines which will further solidify its presence and reach within Egypt and North Africa. The MOU was signed between Megat Ardian, Chief Commercial Officer at flynas and Faisal Al Turki, CEO at Nesma. The agreement is expected to boost air links for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to Saudi Arabia from Egypt as well as cover high traffic demand between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The commencement date of the flights will be announced soon.

Since the last ATM, flynas has achieved exceptional milestones including a major rebrand and change in fleet livery, significant recent investments in enhancing our fleet with the acquisition of Airbus A330 aircraft, and the much-anticipated launch of our Global Flight Routes program that extends our network to Europe, Asia and North Africa, said Raja Azmi, CEO, flynas.

flynas recently announced the launch of long-haul flights to Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, London Gatwick, Manchester, Paris, Casablanca, Lahore and Islamabad, as part of our new expansion plan, Azmi added.

In the past year, flynas has pioneered an innovative business model the Low Cost Carrier Plus (LCC+) which is set to change the image of the traditional Middle Eastern carrier. We have upgraded our in-flight offering to include a 12-seat Business Class Cabin and invested in smarter onboard entertainment technologies and comfort-boosting services, all of which are poised to see flynas soar to new heights both regionally and internationally, added Wael Al Sarhan, Director, Marketing & Communication at flynas.

The continuous expansion of flynas network to serve more countries is an integral part the airlines 20X20 strategy, targeting 20 million passengers by 2020.
