ENOC Group commemorates World Day for Safety and Health at Work with 55 HSE Excellence Awards in 15 categories

Dubai, UAE - ENOC Group, a leading integrated global energy player, celebrated World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2024 by recognizing 55 winners at its annual HSE Excellence Awards ceremony, held at Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights.

In line with its commitment to promoting safe and healthy workplaces, ENOC acknowledged the outstanding contributions of the winners across 15 award categories. The event also served as a platform for unveiling the Group's 2023 HSE Performance, reaffirming its dedication to excellence in occupational health and safety and fostering a sustainable and responsible working environment.

The HSE Excellence Awards encompassed various categories, including Best Performing Segment, Best Performing Business Unit, Best Performing Corporate Department, Partner Recognition, Best HSE Innovation/Project, Best Education Program, Best Process Safety Initiative, Best Near Miss Reporting, Best OH/Wellness Program, Best Environment Project, Best Risk Management Coordinator, Best Business Continuity Management Champion, HSE Champion, and HSE Heroes.

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO at ENOC, emphasized the importance of providing a safe and healthy work environment, stating, "HSE is a key pillar of our organizational culture, and we believe that practicing safe and healthy behaviors enhances productivity and boosts employee wellbeing. With climate change beginning to impact occupational safety and health, we remain committed to accelerating global climate action and improving energy efficiencies to promote best practices in HSE."

"On World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we are proud to recognize the efforts of our employees in creating a safe working environment and contributing to a robust energy infrastructure for the nation," Al Falasi added.

ENOC Group's HSE Performance data for 2023 revealed a Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) of 0.088, which is 49% less than the 2023 target of 0.18.

Throughout the year, the Group launched several occupational health and wellbeing campaigns, including the Safety Day campaign in partnership with The Joint Committee for Security and Safety, aimed at raising awareness of safety and security measures at service stations. Additionally, the Incident Reporting campaign under the 'ENOC Cares' initiative encouraged employees to report incidents transparently, fostering a culture of safety.

In recognition of its commitment to sustainability, ENOC received several accolades, including the GC Mark Blue certification for energy efficiency excellence and the Impact Seal – Platinum Tier award by Majra, the UAE's National CSR Fund, for its sustainable impact practices aligned with ESG criteria and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Furthermore, ENOC achieved significant milestones, with its Emergency Response Centre (EERC) certified to ISO standards of 9001,14001, and 45001, and its Fire Training Center obtaining licenses from the Dubai Civil Defense and Dubai Corporation Ambulance Services for firefighting and first aid training, respectively.

The HSE Excellence Awards ceremony underscored ENOC's unwavering commitment to prioritizing safety, health, and sustainability in its operations, reinforcing its role as a leader in the global energy industry.
