The Dubai Public Library (DPL), owned and managed by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirates dedicated Authority for culture and heritage, recorded robust community interest for its annual summer programme.

Held under the theme, Be Creative, Be Innovative, it placed emphasis on a wide array of educational and entertainment experiences for children aged 6 to 12 years through workshops, interactive activities, training sessions, and competitions to enrich the learning experience of children during summer. In all, it hosted over 160 workshops with 400 participants over the course of the summer.

The Dubai Public Library is committed to facilitating the collection of and public access to Dubais literary heritage for all audiences by fostering an understanding and appreciation of literary culture, and encouraging access to these resources through efficient services and state-of-the-art technology.

The Dubai Public Library officials thanked the ongoing support from children, parents, partners, and the various government entities for their encouraging efforts in making this years programme the most successful to date.

This year, youngsters enjoyed a wide spectrum of activities including Art Ronix, which focused on the integration of arts and electronics through building towns and amusement attractions and Dino Art, a global art initiative based on observation that helps develop skills in creative imagination. The children were also encouraged to take part in teamwork activities that helped enhance scientific thinking by building robots. The Rubik's Cube was also one of the favourites, which aimed at promoting analytical abilities in addition to creative art workshops on modern art, crafts and many more.

Parents praised the efforts of the Dubai Public Library to instill the importance of providing fun-filled activities throughout the year, particularly in summer.
