Dr. Jihad S. Nader, the new Vice Chancellor and CEO of Balamand Dubai University (UOBD). He has been announced to take effect from October 1, 2019.

With a distinguished academic and professional career of over thirty years, Dr. Nader has previously served as the Provost and Chief Academic Officer of the American University in Dubai (AUD) in addition to various leadership positions with reputed universities around the world. With instrumental contributions to numerous educational and training institutions, businesses, professional organizations and government agencies in North America, Europe and the Middle East, Dr. Nader has been awarded several awards for excellence in teaching and research.

Dr. Nader holds a PhD and an MBA and a BBA in finance from the University of Toronto. From the American University of Beirut. He went to International Bank and held administrative positions for many years. In academia sphere, his books on risk management have been published by reputable international publishers and her research on financial institutions and markets, corporate finance, pension plan design and liability assessment, real estate leasing, banking education and other topics. In leading academic and professional journals. He is a member of the editorial committees of The Banking and Finance Review (USA), Logistics Information Management (UK), The Journal of Developing Areas (USA), and Engineering Letters (Texas A&M University).

Licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education, UOBD at present offers undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BS) programs in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. All projects are accredited by the Academic Accreditation Authority (CAA), the UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) Constitutional Licensing and Graduate Accreditation Department. Other program offer at UOBD and currently under review for CAA area Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) accreditation. The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Entrepreneurship, Health Management and Risk Management, English Language and Literature, will be launched in the spring of 2020, and a Professional Teaching Diploma (TD) program. All degrees are based on the model of American higher education.
