Al Naboodah Construction Group, the construction division of Al Naboodah Group Enterprises (ANGE) one of the UAEs oldest and most respected family conglomerates won the overall Better Together award for attaining organisational excellence in delivering the Expo 2020 programme during 2018.

The inaugural Expo 2020 Better Together Awards assembled over 200 construction professionals at a sparkling ceremony to celebrate and recognise the continuing efforts of partners, consultants and contractors who are helping deliver the Expo 2020 site.

In addition, ANCG was awarded the Health and Safety Initiative of the Year and Worker Welfare Initiative of the Year acknowledging world-class health, safety, environment and worker-welfare initiatives executed throughout 2018.

Senan Abdullah Mohammed Al Naboodah, ANCG, said: At ANCG, our worker wellbeing and HSE policies are integral parts of our sustainability policy, which is deeply entrenched in the fabric of our operations today. 2018 has been a milestone year for us, in which we celebrated 60 years of excellence, and the award wins replicate our promise towards the welfare of our employees and future generations, confirming our accomplishment for another 60 years and beyond.

ANCG was recognised for executing several initiatives towards improving education and awareness for their workers around HSE risks and hazards, including the pioneering Visual Impact Training. Along with delivering modules to positively address challenges, the introduction of the Visual Impact Training has also reinforced a decrease in the number of accident and incident occurrence rates within ANCG.

The VIT team was set-up to deliver theatre-like productions that comprise the use of 45-minute stage performances of health and safety circumstances. The performances highlight the importance of safety on the job site by assigning how certain activities can lead to risk, and how those risks can be avoided.

The Better Together awards continued a winning streak which started a week earlier at the Construction Week Awards 2018, in which ANCG was awarded Sustainability Initiative of the Year for their stakeholder engagement initiatives.
