"Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children" launches "A gesture of goodwill" campaign to bring happiness to the disadvantaged

In response to "The UAE Initiative for Connection with Orphans and Minors" that has actually been released by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in Ramadan 2015, Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children revealed the launch of Ramadan project under the motto of "A gesture of goodwill" in cooperation with the Family Village, part of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) in Dubai. The primary goal of the project titled "A gesture of goodwill" is to give annual memberships for orphanages serving children aged 4 to 16 years, allowing them to benefit from art and culture focused learning activities provided within the Centre throughout the year. The project aims to delight children and inform them, it is strongly believed that culture and understanding are kids's rights that are necessary to forming a positive and well-rounded character.

Commenting on Ramadan initiative, Sheikha Al Jasimi, Director of Marketing and Communication Management in AJCCC and an essential leader of the campaign, said: "The Centre decided to grant a variety of subscriptions to orphan kids from the Family Village under the project strategy. In addition to subscriptions, we are offering a chance for applicants such as businessmen and organizations in the UAE and even individuals to join us and support needy kids. The capability for center is high and open to more than 200 kids divided into various areas at the same time." Al Jasmi extended the message of the campaign to all members of the society inviting them to sign up with the noble initiative. The campaign promotes social involvement in humanitarian work, allowing members of the society to take responsibility of less fortunate kids.

Dr Mona Al Bahar board member and acting CEO of Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children referred to the general objectives of the Goodwill campaign, stating: "We look for to make it possible for orphans to establish their abilities technically, giving them many inspirations to immerse in our nationwide culture. At the Centre we have the best of experts to guide and mentor these children, professionals from the fields of art, craft, pottery, theater, radio, music, photography, multimedia design and life skills. We are pleased to bring all these resources to kids who would otherwise be denied of such opportunities."

Dr. Mona added, "An orphan in the UAE has high chances of support in the form of food and housing, in addition to education. We at AJCCC are anticipating adding cultural education and home entertainment served in the form of innovative abilities training to the opportunities available to kids."
