Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media concludes inaugural ‘Masfout X’ race during UAE’s 54th National Day celebrations

The Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media (ADTCM) has successfully concluded the first-ever ‘Masfout X’ Race, held in the scenic Masfout region as part of the UAE’s 54th National Day celebrations. The event, attracted 203 participants from across the Emirates, marking a strong debut for the mountain duathlon.

Organised in accordance with international standards, the race combined mountain running and mountain biking across trails specifically designed to challenge both amateur and professional athletes. The rugged terrain featured steep inclines and natural mountain paths, offering participants a demanding test of physical strength and mental resilience. Government officials, partner representatives and volunteer teams were present, contributing to the successful execution of the event.

His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director-General of ADTCM, praised the strong turnout and enthusiastic participation in the inaugural edition. “The impressive engagement in the first ‘Masfout X’ Race reflects the growing popularity of activities that blend sport, adventure, and nature. ADTCM is committed to initiatives that enhance Ajman’s position as a leading sports tourism destination, in line with the leadership’s vision to develop the sector by leveraging the emirate’s unique landscapes,” he said.

The event was supported by a wide network of partners. The Emirates Council for Balanced Development served as the strategic partner, while Etihad Water and Electricity participated as the official sponsor and Endurance Sports Services took on the role of organiser. Additional contributions were made by Ajman Police, Ajman Municipality, Italian Choice, Forsan Zayed Volunteer Team, Infinity Gym, Majid Studio, Pocari Sweat, Healthy Cola, Endurance Bicycles, Gulfa as the official hydration sponsor and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman as the medical sponsor.

Coinciding with the 54th Union Day, the ‘Masfout X’ Race highlighted Ajman’s commitment to integrating community-focused and sports-driven initiatives into national celebrations, showcasing the role of athletics in fostering unity, social cohesion and national pride.
