World Tourism Day, celebrated by Oman

The Sultanate of Oman, spoken for the Ministry of Tourism (MoT), commemorate World Tourism Day which is recognized on September 27th every year to cultivate awareness among the worldwide network of the social, cultural, political and economic estimation of tourism or travel industry and the commitment that the division can make to accomplishing the Sustainable Development Goals.In 2019, in line with the general focal point of UNWTO on capacities, education and work consistently, World Tourism Day is a festival regarding the matter of Tourism and Jobs: a better future for all.

On this event, HE Ahmad bin Nasir al Mahrazi, Minister of Tourism, supported Wednesday (25 September 2019) the foremost celebration occasion held at the MoT Theater. The occasion featured MoT's undertakings to restore Omani youth to work in the tourism sector, evaluated activities and projects on tourism awareness, and various effective tourism industry SMEs. The occasion has also seen the launch of a manual committed for the visually impaired and respecting the long-service staff working at MoT for different directorates, administrations and departments.

HE Minster of Tourism supports tomorrow (Thursday 26th September 2019) a function held by the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) on the occasion of World Tourism Day. HE al Mahrazi will have an open talk with the students on the theme of World Tourism Day. The talk will feature the significance of organization and participation between every single competent authorities and concerned establishments; including academic institutions, civil society and private sector to initiate more initiatives and campaigns for wide-spreading awareness to promote the Omani youth to join the job opportunities offered by tourism industry.

Partaking in celebrations, the Directorate General of Tourism at the Governorate of Dhofar and diverse tourism administrations all through the Sultanate hold entertainment and awareness events and functions which are based on 2019`s theme of World Tourism Day and go on, in participation with various tourism facilities and establishments to 30th September.
