Turkish Airlines Resumes Flights to Aleppo After 13-Year Suspension

Turkish Airlines has officially resumed its flights to Aleppo, Syria, marking a significant step in reconnecting regional air travel links after a 13-year suspension. The airline, which operates in more countries than any other in the world, had halted flights to Aleppo in April 2012 due to security concerns.

This strategic resumption follows the recent launch of flights to Damascus in January 2025, increasing the number of Syrian destinations served by Turkish Airlines to two.

As of August 1, 2025, Turkish Airlines will operate three weekly round-trip flights between Istanbul Airport and Aleppo International Airport, scheduled on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The frequency will rise to five flights per week starting August 19, and will expand to daily service from September 1, 2025.

Flight Schedule: 2025 Summer

Validity: August 1 – October 30, 2025
(All times are local)

  • TK 844 (Istanbul ➝ Aleppo)
Departure: 08:10 | Arrival: 10:10 | Days: Wednesday, Friday, Sunday

Commenting on the renewed route, Mahmut Yayla, Turkish Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Sales (Region II), said,

“Aleppo is one of the most important cities in the region with its historical and cultural richness. With the reopening of our Aleppo route, we aim to strengthen economic and social ties between the two countries. As Turkish Airlines, we continue to increase our flight connections while offering our guests more travel options.”

To commemorate the relaunch, Turkish Airlines is offering promotional fares on the Istanbul–Aleppo–Istanbul route starting from $299, applicable for ticket purchases made from July 25, 2025. These fares are available through the official Turkish Airlines website and may vary at other sales channels.
