SKAIs Viceroy Dubai Jumeirah Village wins global design award - announces plans to replicate unique tower in other major global cities

SKAI, the Dubai-based real estate and hospitality group, has actually been awarded the 'Tall Buildings' prize at this year's prestigious Architectural Review MIPIM Future Projects Awards for the unique design of its Viceroy Dubai Jumeirah Village.

The 60-storey Viceroy Dubai Jumeirah Village beat off competition from 25 other worldwide projects, including Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Tower, London's Mile High Tower, and the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences, One Dalton Street, Boston, to scoop its 2nd significant design win after winning the 2015 Leisure and Hospitality Project of the Year the Middle East Architect Awards.

SKAI, which conceptualised the distinct design of the home and has now patented it and registered as a trade mark in 186 nations, plans to replicate comparable structures in other major gateway cities.

"We are extremely pleased to be honoured at this year's Architectural Review MIPIM Future Projects Awards for the design of the Viceroy Dubai Jumeirah Village. Building on the AED1.37 bn tower, which makes up 254 serviced apartment or condos with their own private sky gardens and 247 hotel guest rooms, is on track to finish in late 2017. The Architectural Review MIPIM Future Projects Awards, which extend 12 categories, are a celebration of architectural quality in un-built or upcoming projects at MIPIM, the international property market. All entries were evaluated by an international jury chaired by Paul Finch, Editorial Director, The Architectural Review & The Architect's Journal.
