Qasr Al Watan welcomes families and children of uae martyrs on commemoration day

Qasr Al Watan, in partnership with the Martyrs’ Families Affairs Office, welcomed the families and children of UAE martyrs as part of a special initiative marking UAE Commemoration Day, observed annually on 30 November. The visit honored the courage, dedication and sacrifice of the nation’s fallen heroes.

During the visit, families were accompanied by a cultural tour specialist who guided them through the Palace’s grand halls and educational spaces. The tour included a stop at The Great Hall, known for hosting major national events and housing historical artefacts that reflect the UAE’s cultural heritage. Guests also explored exhibits detailing the journey of the UAE’s leadership and the landmark achievements that have shaped the country’s development.

The programme continued with a visit to the Qasr Al Watan Library, home to an extensive collection of works documenting the UAE’s political, cultural and social progress. Families and children were also able to experience several interactive and educational activities available throughout the Palace.

The initiative reflects the UAE’s deep commitment to honoring the families of martyrs, acknowledging their noble sacrifices and reinforcing their valued role within society. It also highlights the importance of inspiring younger generations to uphold the principles of unity, resilience and national pride as the UAE continues its path of progress.

Welcoming the martyrs’ children served as a powerful gesture of gratitude and national appreciation, strengthening connections and reaffirming the enduring values of the UAE. As one of Abu Dhabi’s most significant cultural landmarks, Qasr Al Watan provides visitors with a deeper understanding of the nation’s traditions, heritage and intellectual legacy. Guests can also appreciate the Palace’s striking Islamic architecture and explore a rich collection of artefacts, manuscripts and artworks that chronicle the UAE’s cultural history.
