Paribu acquires CoinMENA in landmark USD 240 million deal

Paribu has acquired CoinMENA in a transaction valued at up to USD 240 million, marking the largest fintech deal in Türkiye and the country’s first cross-border acquisition of a digital asset trading platform.

The deal significantly expands Paribu’s footprint beyond its home market of Türkiye into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), one of the world’s fastest-growing regions for cryptoasset adoption. Through the acquisition, Paribu gains access to CoinMENA’s regulated operating infrastructure.

CoinMENA operates under licenses issued by Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority and the Central Bank of Bahrain, strengthening Paribu’s regulatory presence and positioning the combined group as one of the region’s few multi-jurisdiction, regulated digital asset operators.

Yasin Oral, Founder and CEO of Paribu, said the transaction represents a major milestone for both Türkiye and the wider regional digital asset ecosystem, allowing the company to expand its licensed operations into a highly crypto-adoptive market and reinforcing its compliance-led growth strategy.

CoinMENA co-founders Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an said the partnership would combine CoinMENA’s regional expertise with Paribu’s technology to deliver a wider range of digital asset products for users across Türkiye and the MENA region, calling the deal the most transformative milestone in the company’s history.

The acquisition reflects continued consolidation across the global digital asset industry, as established platforms seek greater scale, more robust regulatory frameworks and expanded geographic reach.
