OSN secures exclusive MENA broadcast rights to all ICC events for 8 years

OSN, the regions leading pay-TV network, has further defined its credentials as the home of cricket by securing exclusive regional rights to all 18 ICC tournaments and qualifiers for the next eight years.

OSN already holds the rights to the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup and has renewed the rights from 2015 to 2023 through an exclusive arrangement with STAR who were awarded the global rights by the ICC.

David Butorac, CEO of OSN, said: We are extremely pleased to be awarded the ICC rights which not only cements our commitment to cricket but also positions us as the undisputable home for live and exclusive cricket coverage in the region.

This long-term partnership with the ICC and STAR further strengthens OSNs portfolio of live cricket providing viewers with the biggest sports events in the world.

STAR, on winning the largest cricket broadcast rights from the ICC for 18 tournaments, including two back-to-back Cricket World Cups (2019 and 2023), has sub-licensed the rights in MENA to OSN. Apart from these rights, OSN also holds sub-licensed rights to other tournaments from STAR such as the BCCI, Cricket Australia, England and Wales Cricket Board and Champions League T20.

Uday Shankar, CEO of Star India, said: Star and OSN share a proud legacy of bringing unlimited possibilities to the TV-viewing experience. That commonality of purpose makes us delighted to sub-license Stars global rights of the ICC events to OSN over the next eight years. The partnership will offer the best-in-class cricketing events to sports fans in the MENA, and we are confident that it will continue to add value to OSN.
