OPPO to launch a Qualcomm-powered dual-mode 5G smartphone

Following the official launch of 5G business services by leading Chinese carriers, OPPO, the leading international smartphone brand, whole proclaimed that it will launch a Qualcomm-powered dual-mode 5G smartphone in December within the Chinese mainland. on October 31st, China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom debuted 5G service packages, marking the official development of 5G in the country. With the new smartphone, OPPO is planning to deliver an enhanced 5G experience to users and accelerate 5G adoption among a large base of customers. The OPPO 5G dual-mode smartphone also will be launched in multiple markets across the world.

On May 1st, OPPO and Swisscom conjointly launched OPPO Reno 5G, the primary commercial 5G smartphone available in the European markets. Inside the GCC, the smartphone was unveiled in September. The OPPO Reno 5G continues the Reno series use of innovative technology to elevate photography and mobile entertainment to all-new ranges, with the value added power of 5Gs super-fast connectivity. OPPO could be a pioneer in 5G smartphones and connectivity; and also is a key contributor to the standardization of 5G. The company had announced its 5G Landing Project with leading operator partners within the GCC earlier in 2019 to accelerate the commercialization of 5G products and services worldwide.

OPPO Vice President Alen, Recently added Wu indicated in an interview that over all OPPO smartphones priced upward of AED 1,500 within the Chinese mainland will have a 5G version next year.

Back in early 2015, OPPO established its initial dedicated 5G team and endowed heavily in 5G across the areas of standardization, devices, and applications. As of the end of September 2019, OPPO had filed applications for over 2,500 global patent families and declared more than 1,000 families of 5G Standard Essential Patents to the ETSI. In addition, the company has submitted more than 3,000 5G standards-related documents to 3GPP, ranking among the top contributors to the international standards organization.
