National Media Council and Ministry of Education Announce Winners of Reading Radar Competition

The National Media Council (NMC), introduced the victors of the "Reading Radar" competitors. The NMC introduced the competitors together with the Ministry of Education to mark the Month of Reading, which happens during March of yearly. the competition permits trainees to value reading, builds their fast-reading capacities, and establishes their conversation skills.

The competition targeted school students along three categories: First, students from grade 8 and 9; after that grades 10 and 11; and the third category targeted quality 12. A total of 762 pupils completed, standing for all emirates, and 9 participants were lastly crowned champions, three from each category.

The contestants were evaluated based upon a number of requirements, including their comprehension of the write-ups and publications provided (worth 25 factors), their rate (60 points), their Arabic-speaking skills (10 points) and 5 points for the student's character.

His Excellency Mansour Al Mansouri, Director General of the National Media Council (NMC), and H.E. Marwan Ahmad Al Sawaleh, Undersecretary of the Minister of Education for Academic Affairs honoured the winners: Abdullah Al Mansouri; Tareq Mahfouz Al Shehhi; and Saif Majid Al-Badawi, the winners from the first category. Meanwhile, Sheikha Hamid Al Shamsi; Asma Ibrahim Al Kamali; and Ali Ahmed Al Mazroui won in the second category. The winners in the third and final category were: Fatima Ibrahim Al Mazroui; Aisha Khamis Al Saadi; and Aisha Ali Al Khuzaimi.

"The Reading Radar initiative can be found in line with the purposes of the National Reading Strategy, which looks for to establish abilities, in addition to create and promote chances that support literary activities among school students in the UAE. This, subsequently, develops an educated and certified generation capable of taking duty and proceeding the process of creating the UAE with all performance," said H.E. Al Mansouri.

The National Media Council launched the Reading Radar competitors together with the Ministry of Education during the Month of Reading 2017, as one of numerous activities that advertise reading and establish it as a way of life for future generations, in addition to an important part of the UAE's national identity.
