Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs signs MoU with Higher Colleges of Technology

The Ministry of Federal National Council Affairs has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Higher Colleges of Technology to enhance the level of cooperation in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the culture of political participation and political awareness in the UAE.

The MoU signed by His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, and H.E. Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of Higher Colleges of Technology, highlights the top priority given to the national programme of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to activate the role of the Federal National Council. It also reflects the Ministrys keenness to improve parliamentary life in coordination with the government and the FNC to meet the aspirations of the citizens.

The MoU is an effective step towards enhancing political awareness and culture of political participation among all segments of the society, especially young people and university students. Activities, events and seminars will be organized to motivate citizens to participate effectively in the comprehensive process under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, said H.E. Tariq Hilal Lootah.

H.E. Dr. Tayeb Kamali pointed out that the MoU reflects the UAEs keenness to provide the countrys youth advanced education and enable them to acquire scientific and cultural knowledge that contribute to the overall development process.

Cooperation with the Ministry of FNCA strengthens the role of educational institutions in preparing qualified citizens, in line with the key developmental pillars, by offering students the opportunity to embrace a culture of political awareness and motivating them to proactively participate in the UAEs development march, said H.E. Dr. Tayeb Kamali.

Based on the MoU, the two sides will implement programmes that contribute towards promoting a culture of political development in the state, exchanging expertise and experiences and preparing studies and joint research. Conferences, seminars and training programmes would also be organized under the MoU in order to spread awareness in the community on the importance of political participation.
The two sides also agreed to form teams to work together to implement the joint programmes and activities, offering recommendations and proposals necessary to achieve the objectives of this MoU.
