As part of the ongoing partnership between the General Women's Union as well as the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA), the “Women Empowerment Committee” held its inaugural meeting at the InterContinental Dubai.
The meeting explored ways to support females's empowerment, boost their depiction in the Federal National Council (FNC), as well as urge their active involvement in the upcoming political elections, which, in turn, more enhances the UAE's ranking on the Female's Empowerment Index, which is a vital element of the UAE's competition.

Lootah lauded the immense duty played by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Female's Union, Head of state of the Supreme Council for Parenthood and Youth, as well as Supreme Chairwoman of the Household Advancement Structure, in supporting and empowering women in the UAE.
The Women Empowerment Board consists of Ministry of Area Development, the Federal Youth Structure, the Federal National Council, the National Media Council, the General Women's Union, as well as the Gender Balance Council.
Also on the Committee are agents from several women’s empowerment organisations operating in the UAE, namely: Women Renaissance Association in Dubai, Sharjah Women’s Union Association, Umm Al Moumineen Women’s Association in Ajman, Women Association Society in Umm Al Quwain, Women’s Renaissance Association in Ras Al Khaimah, and the Court of H.H. the Ruler of Fujairah.
