Minister of State for Advanced Sciences H.E. Sarah Al Amiri to Head Emirates Scientists Council Following Reshuffle

The Emirates Scientists Council has been reshuffled following a meeting of the UAE Closet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai. The new Council will be goinged by Her Excellency Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Sciences.

The new members of the Emirates Scientists Council expressed their gratefulness for being intrusted with representing the UAE Science Community by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The members reiterated their dedication to executing the management's vision to advertise the UAE as a prime global destination for the scientific research and knowledge industries.

" The development of science and technology through with research study is a key element shaping the future of the UAE, and attaining the vision of our wise management in sustaining development and creating a far better future for coming generations," said H.E. Al Amiri. "Science is the main engine for the progression and advancement of culture; it is important for knowing the UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE Centennial 2071 Plan, and harmonising scientific efforts to change key sectors and build a lasting knowledge economy.

"The Emirates Scientists Council, which now consists of notable professionals in the science and modern technology market, will empower researchers and professionals to produce innovative science-based solutions to our difficulties and carry out research study outcomes into tasks that affect our day-to-day lives," H.E. ended.

The new Council includes Prof. Ghaleb Ali Al Hadrami Al Breiki, an Emirati researcher in the field of food science who was appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies at UAE University in 2016, and Dr Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Director and Executive Vice President of Khalifa University for Science and Technology, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Emirates College for Advanced Education, Chair of the Steering Committee of the UAE Graduate Students Research Conference (GSRC), and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the UAE Advanced Network for Research and Education (ANKABUT).

Likewise on the Council is Dr Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist, and Dean of the Institute of Cardiac Sciences at the University of Medication of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medication and Health Science. He has written nearly 150 research documents and received several awards for his academic and research efforts. The Council will also consist of Prof. Sehamuddin Galadari, Study Professor of Biology and Biochemistry, Senior Vice Provost of Study Outreach, and Managing Director of the NYUAD Study Institute at New York City University Abu Dhabi; in addition to Dr Ali Al Zarouni, Executive Vice President accountable of Midstream Procedures at Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) given that 2016.

Also on the Council is Dr Habiba Al Safar, Director of the Khalifa University Facility for Biotechnology (KUCEB) and Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University, who is credited with identifying the genomes responsible for the spread of among the most typical diseases in the UAE - Diabetes Kind I and II.
