The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) has announced a partnership with Dubai Courts on its My Family Reads initiative, which aims to encourage reading habits in the UAE society and enhance knowledge levels within the community. Under the initiative, His Excellency Jamal Bin Huwaireb, Managing Director of MBRF, delivered a large collection of books in the form of 180 knowledge packages, to H.E. Tarish Eid Al Mansouri, Director-General of Dubai Courts, to be distributed to Dubai Courts employees.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Jamal Bin Huwaireb said: We are delighted to welcome Dubai Courts on board our My Family Reads initiative. The increasing influence of digital entertainment and social media in the modern society has led to shrinking reading habits. Through the My Family Reads initiative, our effort is to establish a culture of reading within the UAE society by introducing international classics and best-selling titles to Emirati families, and in the process extend the reach of global knowledge to the local society in the UAE."

The knowledge packages in the My Family Reads initiative includes Arabic translations of renowned international literary works on a wide range of topics that meet the interests of all age groups. These include the National Geographic World History Biographies Series, produced by National Geographic in collaboration with Book House. The series highlight the lives of eminent scientists and genius personalities such as Galileo and Mozart. Another interesting package, offered in partnership with Majdalawi Masterpieces Bookstore, offers educational books on various materials, aimed at children below seven years.

Commenting on the partnership with MBRF, H.E. Tarish Eid Al Mansouri said: The joining of Dubai Courts in the My Family Reads initiative reflects our keen interest to promote the values of knowledge and raise the status of Arabic language as symbol of our national identity. There is no doubt that the unique range of outstanding books offered as part of the My Family Reads initiative will contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and culture of reading among the employees and members of their families in all age groups. This cooperation comes within the framework of our strategy to strengthen ties with MBRF, with whom we share the vision to disseminate knowledge to create sustainable development of the society and the economy.
The initiative, My Family Reads, was launched in December 2013 on the directive of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to implement the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to create a knowledge based society and a young generation capable of leading the nation into the future
