IFFCO Group Releases 2024 ESG Report, Accelerates Action Toward 2030 Sustainability Goals

Key milestones include 30% biofuel fleet adoption, 8% water intensity reduction, and over 5,000 MWh of on-site renewable energy

IFFCO Group, the UAE-based global fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) leader, has released its third annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, highlighting substantial progress across sustainability initiatives and setting the tone for its continued transition from planning to execution under the Sustainability Strategy 2030.

The 2024 ESG Report presents a comprehensive view of how IFFCO is embedding ESG principles into its operations, governance, and supply chain practices. The strategy is underpinned by nine core ESG programmes, aligned with global standards such as the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). Each programme is guided by clear KPIs, three- and six-year roadmaps, and financial accountability frameworks.

Key Sustainability Milestones from 2024:

  • 30% of the UAE fleet now operates on biofuels (B7), reducing transportation emissions in line with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 goals. Transportation-related carbon footprint dropped to 7%, down from 11% in 2021.

  • Water intensity across 23 facilities was reduced by 8%, demonstrating the Group’s commitment to conservation and operational sustainability.

  • On-site renewable energy generation more than doubled, reaching 5,140 MWh, equivalent to powering 480 UAE homes for a full year.

  • Palm oil traceability to plantation increased to 93.6%, reflecting a 9.6 percentage point year-on-year improvement and reinforcing compliance with No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) standards.

  • Sustainability-linked KPIs were embedded into the performance metrics of over 900 employees, promoting a culture of accountability and ownership across the organization.

  • Launch of the Consumer Packaging Roadmap 2030, aimed at reducing virgin plastic use, introducing recycled PET, and expanding sustainable packaging solutions.
