His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, delivered the keynote address at the opening of the 13th edition of the AIM Congress today in the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi.

The prestigious event, held under the theme "Adapting to A Shifting Investment Landscape: Harnessing New Potentials for Global Economic Development," commenced with the esteemed presence of global dignitaries including His Excellency Andry Rajoelina, President of the Republic of Madagascar;

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah; Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance; Sheikh Khalid bin Saud Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah’s Investment and Development Office; His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State.

His Excellency Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; His Excellency Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade; and His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the Arab League.

Running for three days until May 9, 2024, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), the AIM Congress has His Highness Sheikh Saud as the Guest of Honor, signifying the UAE's commitment to fostering global economic development.

In his opening keynote address, His Highness Sheikh Saud highlighted the evolution of the UAE's investment journey, emphasizing its emergence as a key source of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) globally. Sheikh Saud stated, "The UAE has always understood that development can, and should, be reciprocal. I am convinced that by joining forces, we can establish a new investment landscape, with growth that is inclusive, sustainable, and as far as possible, universal."

Addressing the nation's economic progress, Sheikh Saud attributed it to strong and visionary leadership, particularly commending the role of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. He highlighted the UAE's commitment to strategic infrastructure development and the nurturing of human capital as key factors driving economic prosperity.

The AIM Congress 2024, supported by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development as lead partners, attracted significant attendance on its first day. Notable participants included Ministers, Government Officials, decision-makers, leading investors, major corporations, startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, international organizations, and over 12,000 visitors from more than 175 countries.

The event aims to formulate investment strategies, promote economic opportunities, enhance international economic relations, and devise innovative solutions to global challenges, ultimately contributing to a prosperous and sustainable global economy.

The opening ceremony featured keynote speeches and panel discussions with senior policymakers and business leaders, aimed at exchanging knowledge, experiences, and insights to address global investment landscape transformations and challenges.
