H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar: Dubai Fitness Challenge reinforces Dubai’s vision of a healthier, happier society

H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), affirmed that the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2025 reflects the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and President of HBMSU, in fostering a culture of health, happiness, and productivity.

Dr. Al Awar said that the Dubai Fitness Challenge has become a defining milestone in the city’s transformation journey — symbolizing its status as a global hub for well-being and quality of life. He added that the initiative exemplifies Dubai’s human-centric development model, which prioritizes the health and happiness of individuals as central to its progress.

“The Dubai Fitness Challenge has succeeded in cultivating a sustainable culture that encourages individuals and institutions alike to adopt active, balanced lifestyles that promote both physical fitness and mental well-being,” Dr. Al Awar said.

He noted that HBMSU is proud to be an active participant in the Challenge, motivating its academic, administrative, and learner communities to engage in regular physical activity. “We firmly believe that physical and mental health are fundamental pillars of smart education, which merges academic excellence with human well-being,” he added.

As part of its ongoing commitment, HBMSU organizes the ‘Run and Ride’ event annually under the DFC umbrella. The initiative brings together members of the community to raise awareness about public health and encourage active living through inclusive sports participation.

Dr. Al Awar emphasized that HBMSU’s engagement aligns with the broader goals of UAE Centennial 2071 and the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, both of which place human health and happiness at the heart of sustainable development.

“HBMSU remains steadfast in supporting national initiatives that enhance quality of life, reinforcing Dubai’s position as an inspiring global model for active living, balance, and happiness,” he concluded.
