HBMSU Board of Trustees Reviews Strategic Progress, Transformation Projects in Third 2024–2025 Meeting
The Board of Trustees of Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) convened its third meeting for the academic year 2024–2025, led by His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board. The session focused on reviewing the university’s strategic growth agenda, transformational initiatives, and ongoing academic advancements.
During the meeting, the Board assessed the implementation status of the HBMSU 2024–2026 Strategic Plan, as well as key resolutions from prior sessions. A major point of discussion was the progress of new transformation projects, designed to bolster the university’s local and global competitiveness through innovation-led education.
The council also reviewed preparations for the 15th cohort's graduation ceremony, ensuring that all logistical and ceremonial aspects align with the expectations of graduates and guests.
“We are steadfast in our commitment to cultivating innovation and academic excellence through smart learning,” said H.E. Mattar Al Tayer. “AI and modern technologies are at the heart of our transformation strategy, empowering learners to thrive in an increasingly digital world.”
In his address, His Excellency Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, reiterated the importance of the university’s future-ready approach. He emphasized the adoption of innovative teaching models that enhance students' alignment with evolving labour market demands, while nurturing a lifelong learning culture.
“HBMSU is proactively redefining education to bridge the skills gap and prepare future leaders,” Dr. Al Awar noted. “Our commitment to digital transformation, especially in integrating AI into academic and administrative systems, remains a top priority.”
The Board’s discussions reflect HBMSU’s strategic intent to remain at the forefront of smart education, leveraging technology to enhance learner outcomes and support national development goals.
