Students from the Hamdan Centre for Giftedness and Innovation, a key initiative of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, are currently participating in the University of Cambridge Pre‑University Program at Fitzwilliam College. Running from July 27 to August 9, 2025, the program offers a high-impact academic experience that reflects the Foundation’s commitment to empowering young talent through international educational opportunities.
Designed to nurture gifted students’ intellectual and personal growth, the program immerses participants in an elite academic environment. It includes intensive lectures, hands-on workshops, and cross-disciplinary learning modules in fields such as engineering, chemistry, medicine, and humanities. In addition, students take part in enrichment activities aimed at enhancing communication, teamwork, and leadership skills in a diverse, multicultural setting.
Dr. Mariam Al Ghawi, Director of the Hamdan Centre for Giftedness and Innovation, highlighted the importance of such global programs, stating:
“Through this participation, we aim to provide our students with an exceptional academic experience at one of the world’s most renowned universities. This journey not only broadens their scientific horizons but also builds their confidence, nurtures a spirit of research and innovation, and prepares them to become ambassadors of knowledge and excellence in both the local and global community.”
Dr. Al Ghawi reaffirmed the Center’s ongoing mission to support gifted students academically, psychologically, and socially. She emphasized that the Center’s initiatives extend learning beyond the classroom, fostering a holistic environment for developing the full potential of each student.
The Cambridge Pre-University Program hosts over 250 students from 15 countries, creating a dynamic platform for international academic collaboration and cultural exchange. The initiative is aligned with the vision of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, which aims to prepare a future generation of innovators capable of contributing to the global knowledge economy.
Through experiences like this, the Hamdan Centre continues to invest in building a culture of excellence, innovation, and global-mindedness among the UAE’s brightest young minds.
